SinfulColors GoGo Girl

When it comes to nail polish, it's really no different! Red is thee classic shade for nails. While it's not a shade that I always reach for, when I do, I want it to be bright, shiny, lookatmerightnow red... and that's exactly what GoGo Girl is! GoGo Girl is definitely more opaque than Daredevil, but still leaves a very slight VNL. Any polish that's going to be this shiny has to have it, and I do nawt mind. I'm all about the glitter, sparkles, and jellies over here, the more the merrier! Don't be fooled by that little bit of VNL though, SinfulColors GoGo Girl is one incredibly pigmented polish. I could've easily gotten away with just two coats, but that whole tip-wrapping thing really escapes me, like, 93% of the

SinfulColors Daredevil

For whatever reason, polishes with pearlescent or opalescent finishes just set off alarm bells in my brain, and I end up putting them back on the shelf, realquicklike . You know how they say not to judge a book by its cover? I'm living proof that you shouldn't judge a polish by its finish. Not until you've seen it on your nails. Before painting, I was definitely apprehensive. Once it was on my nails? Daredevil glows , guys. It is a hot pink polish that just GLOWS. Like, super bright, all things right with the world kind of glow, and it's all thanks to that shimmery purple pearlescence. What was I thinking?!? Daredevil goes on sheer, but it's got that great SinfulColors formula that I just can't get enough of. Seriously... I just went o

Fishbowl Friday *013*

FRESH ... that's the prompt for Fishbowl Friday the 13th. Originally, I had a much different plan for this manicure. Unfortunately, due to some formula issues, it didn't work out as planned. So... I filed that idea for later and thought about the word fresh some more. In addition to clean, it can also mean new . And when I think new, I also tend to think untried . I also think pastel when I think of fresh. So, I paired Sally Hansen Babe Blue, which I've worn but haven't blogged about yet, with my latest satisfied lemming, Fingerpaints Daubigny's Garden... Originally, I was going to paint my nails with a cream nude polish and add a super minimal accent in hot pink. I tried two of

SinfulColors 24/7

Polishes Used: 1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler 4 Coats SinfulColors 24/7 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Other people might wear pink on Wednesdays, but I could honestly wear pink all. the. time. It's one of my favorite colors, and I never get tired of wearing it on my nails. SinfulColors 24/7 is aptly named, considering I can see myself reaching for this over and over again in the future!  24/7 is the kind of pink that you can wear anytime, with anything, and it will just work . I know I've bought and worn a gazillion hot pink polishes, but this one definitely stands out from some of the others. It's a bright pink, but it's also warmer than my other blue-leaning pinks. 24/7 is touted as SinfulColors "hottest pink," and they're definitely on to something. There's an almost-but-not-quite neon vibe going on here, and I'm loving it. Even if I end up taking this off tonight, you'll definitely see 24/7 ag

Fishbowl Friday *012*

Okay... so the prompts have been super duper mixed up and this week I pulled....... MONOCHROMATIC ! I stuck with purple since I was already wearing Who is Ultra Violet when I pulled the prompt. It's a really fun mid-toned purple shade, which always works great for stamping! It allowed me to go dark or light with my stamping accents, and of course... I had to add in some glitter! So, I mentioned how I was working on getting organized , right? Well, I'm really going to try to post the prompt for the week further in advance than just when I blog about

State of the Sparkle *009*

Happy Friday! I don't know about you, but I'm totally ready for a nice, relaxing weekend. With a little running around sprinkled in for good measure! Happy New Year! Did I ever really get to say that?!? I don't think I did. This year, the Holidays were extra-crazy because Mr. Sparkle was only home for a month. Soooo we definitely tried to fit about 8-10 months of real time into one month. We went on soooo many dates together... gosh I missed that! You really have no idea how much having a little one changes the family dynamic until you're out for dinner sipping on Sangria and ordering whatever you want. 'Cause, you know, your lil' Peanut isn't there to munch on the food from your plate rather than their own! New Year's Resolutions........................? Yep! This year, I actually have two. The first is, of course, the obligatory get-in-shape/eat-healthy/lose-weight resolution. For that, I've actually purchased my very own exercise mat...

Fishbowl Friday *011*

I believe I mentioned something last week about needing to mix up my prompts? And it really might be time to purchase a larger fishbowl so the prompts can actually swish around a little whole lot more! Either way, this week's prompt is GREEN ... Polishes Used: 1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler 3 Coats SinfulColors Calypso 1 Coat Pure Ice Busted 1 Coat Pure Ice Heartbreaker 1 Coat Pure Ice Busted 1 Coat Seche Vite Last Sunday was my first Walgreens run of 2015. It's been a while since my last visit, so it was nice to peruse the aisles, leisurely searching for polishes. Peanut and I visited all the giant Valentine's Day stuffed animals, and she got to pick out a Hello Kitty stuffy for her good behavior. I picked up Calypso from SinfulColors, in addition to a bunch of other polish. Now, I know what you're thinking... Calypso isn't exactly green , but it's not 100% blue either. It's a green-leaning peacocky blue creme that's really

Layering: Feeling Great, Baby!

Polishes Used: 1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler 4 Coats SinfulColors Feeling Great 3 Coats Pure Ice Oh, Baby 1 Coat Seche Vite This layering turned out differently than I originally planned. I was thinking more along the lines of pink jelly with turquoise shimmer, and Oh, Baby just doesn't quite do it. Not that it's not pretty... it is, and I like it. It just wasn't what I was expecting, you know? My nails were definitely in need of pink... a blue-leaning hot pink to be precise! I was thinking I would add a little shimmer in turquoise, (a la Dear Dahlia) and Oh, Baby was right there. Honestly, I could've sworn pre-pictures that Oh, Baby leaned a little more green, but I was wrong! I have blue/green, pink, and purple shimmer toppers, but no turquoise. That must be remedied! Despite the fact that it wasn't what I originally intended, I like this layering a lot. Hot pink is great on its own, but add shimmer or glitter and it only gets better
