Fishbowl Friday 065 // Zoya

Hey there! No, it's not Friday and I know it's been forever. I'm still getting into the swing of a new schedule and all that. This particular prompt was actually pulled by Peanut last week, but I didn't get around to actually doing a mani for it until this week. So, here we have ZOYA nails... But I can't really say that I thought much about layering the two of them together. Or creating a jelly glitter sandwich with Paloma. But that's what this turned into! And I really like it! Both Muse and Binx contain translucent and opalescent hexagonal glitter. The shades of glitter vary slightly between the two because of the different base coats. Layer a

Fishbowl Friday 064 // Opal

Friday is just about over, and what a Friday it has been! For today's prompt, I pulled OPAL. I guess the biggest thing I normally think of when I think of nails and OPAL... flakies. But, I didn't really want to go that route this time around. So, I chose an opalescent glitter, put it over a dark teal glass-fleck duochrome, and then topped that with flakies... Polishes Used: 1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler 3 Coats China Glaze Don't Get Elfed Up 1 Coat China Glaze Moonlight the Night 1 Coat Color Club The Uptown 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite If you haven't already noticed, I'm a big believer in layering my glitter with sparkles and topping all of that with flakies. Because more is more, right? Well, at least as far as I'm concerned, it is! Don't Get Elfed Up is a gorgeous glass-fleck polish from China Glaze's Cheers! Holiday Collection. It's a dark teal that flashes blue with a glint of purpl

My Resolutions for 2016

It might seem a little odd to be posting this in February, but there's a pretty good reason behind that, I promise. I actually sat down to write this post a few times and recent events have actually allowed it all to flow a little bit better! You might not know this, but Seize the Sparkle was actually started as part of my New Year's resolution back in 2013. And here we are, just a few weeks into the year 2016. Seize the Sparkle turned three halfway through January, and I'm still working on digesting it! Oh, and you didn't miss any Anniversary or Blogiversary post, because there wasn't one. (Good reasons for that too!)  No, I was busy working on making my biggest Resolution come to fruition. It was a search that actually started out in late September of last year, and got put on hold a little during the holidays, then slammed into full force at the beginning of the year. The job search. (duh, duh, duuuuuuh...) I've worked at my current job for almost te

Fishbowl Friday 063 // Silver

Let's all do a little ohmygoshthankthelordthatitisfriday dance, shall we? Oh, it's not just me?!? Even better! I'm sooooooo beyond ready to have a weekend to catch my breath and just relax a little bit! Today's prompt is a pretty simple one. SILVER could be translated and done about a thousand different ways. But since I'm wearing black, white, and grey, I thought I'd combine charcoal grey nails with sparkly textured silver polish on my accent nails... Polishes Used:  1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler 3 Coats China Glaze Out Like a Light 3 Coats Revlon Diamond Texture 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Diamond Texture from Revlon is about the closest thing I've found to a silvery version of Zoya Tomoko. But it's not exaaaaactly what I'm lemming. Don't get me wrong, it's a bright silver, it's textured, and there's a ton of sparkle! But I just wish that it were a little bit l

OPI Conquistadorable Color Accent Mani

Do you have a particular color that you overbuy? For me, I think raspberry pink cremes definitely fall into that category. I've got a million of them, but Conquistadorable Color by OPI was one of the firsts in my stash. For today's accent mani, I paired it with the multichrome flaky goodness that is Pahlish Gumdrop Rooftop layered over my favorite gold glitter, Zoya Tomoko. Polishes Used: 1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler 2 Coats OPI Conquistadorable Color 2 Coats Zoya Tomoko 2 Coats Pahlish Gumdrop Rooftop 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite If you haven't heard of this color, it's probably because it was part of OPI's Fall 2009 Collection... Coleccion de Espana. Around that time, I was buying a few OPI polishes here and there, but nothing to the extent of what I buy today! In the photos, you can't really tell that this is a raspberry creme, and it's a true raspberry creme. My camera washed out all hints o
