Fishbowl Friday 052 // Opal

Happy, Happy Friday... Happy Friday to you! Today is actually an extra special Friday because Fishbowl Friday is officially one year old! It's really hard to believe that I've been bringing you this series every Friday for an entire year!!! The prompt I drew for today was OPAL ... Polishes Used:  1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler 2 Coats Essie No More Film 2 Coats OPI Last Friday Night 2 Coats Frankenflaky 1 Coat OPI Last Friday Night 1 Coats SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite When I think of OPAL , I try not to think of the sheen on the bathroom sink at Chez Sparkle. That's not the kind of OPAL I, or really anyone else for that matter, likes. We all know that I love glitter and sparkles, and when its of the opalescent variety, it can be a seriously magical thing. Since I truly believe in overdoing glitter and sparkles 103% of the time, I went with a mix of opalescent glitter and opalescent color-shifting flakies to cr

Pahlish October 2015 Duo // A Rare Month: Autumn People & Stopped Watch

Ever so slowly, I'm dipping my toes into the waters of indie nail polish. And I do mean slowly. Pahlish is the 3rd indie polish brand I've tried so far. The purchase of these two polishes actually marks the first time that I've ever decided to order a polish online so quickly. As soon as I saw the swatch of Autumn People, I knew it had to be in my collection. Stop The Clock and Autumn People came as a pair, so it only seemed natural to layer them together... Polishes Used: 1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler 4 Coats Pahlish Stopped Watch 2 Coats Pahlish Autumn People 2 Coats SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite I'm not even sure where to begin with the two of these polishes. They've both got a lot going on, and when they're layered together? So. Much. Gorgeousness! First of all, I'd be lying if I didn't say that Autumn People totally drew me in. It's such a unique and fun mix of flakies and glitter, with a lot

Layering: Eternal Uptown Fire

So remember last week when I wondered what The Uptown would look like layered over Eternal Beauty? Well, I did just that and added a coat of Fantasy Fire on top for good measure to create this ah-mazingly sparkly layering... natural light sunlight sunlight natural light sunlight sunlight natural light natural light natural light Polishes Used:  1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler 2 Coats Color Club Eternal Beauty 2 Coats Color Club The Uptown 1 Coat Max Factor Fantasy Fire 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite This is one seriously magical layering! I am definitely in love! The Uptown adds a fun splash of color to the holo in Eternal Beauty. Fantasy Fire adds a splash of sparkle overtop to really give depth and dimension to this layering without covering up the gorgeous shifting flakies of The Uptown.  Sigh.  I'm pretty sure that I would buy versions of The Uptown in every color of the

Fishbowl Friday 051 // Favorite

Happy Fri-Yay! We've made it through to another weekend. That's worth a pat on the back and a celebratory something, right? Some weeks, I'll tell ya. So, I picked FAVORITE for my prompt last night and ran with it in like 8 different ways... Polishes Used: 1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler 2 Coats OPI Hey Baby! China Glaze Mingle with Kringle L'Oreal Sexy in Sequins Orly Space Cadet SinfulColors Smokin' Wet n Wild A Latte Love 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite This prompt could easily be interpreted about a hundred different ways. FAVORITE color, brand, finish, mani, etc. As I was making the list in my mind, I knew it had to be a seriotype. How could it not? So here's my favorite kind of manicure with all my favorite things. Starting out, I knew that I had to use pink as my basecoat. Originally, I thought Zoya Ali would be perfect, but it just did nawt want to cooperate. That and poor application of latex

This is the purple of the bunch, a nice mid-toned orchidy/violet shade. Add holo sparkle and just like Beyond... total rainbow explosion on your nails! I am seriously not kidding when I say that I love this formula and the brush. That combination makes for seriously flawless application. I used three easy coats to get the look you see in the swatches, but most people would only need two. You know, as I'm looking at these swatches, there's something really magical about rainbows and the color purple! I'm really curious what The Uptown , also by Color Club, would look layered over Eternal Beauty. It's a purple jelly that's loaded with flakie

Color Club Beyond

Hey guys! I know it's been a little while, but fear not... I'm not going anywhere! In fact, I'm dipping my toes into some very foreign waters today. Foreign, sparkly, and... Holographic?!?!?!? ( I know!)  Natural Light Natural Light Sunlight Sunlight Sunlight Polishes Used: 1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler 3 Coats Color Club Beyond 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite I'm pretty sure that I swore multiple times that it wasn't going to happen, but... it kinda happened. I mean, I wasn't really expecting it to happen, I was just watching a few videos online and before you know it... I'm ordering 5 of the OG Halo Hues from Color Club because that's clearly what dipping your toes in holographic waters means. Since I'm soooooo incredibly zerotoninetylikerightnow , I dove straight off the high dive, bikini and all. Color Club Beyond is the holo to blame for all the other holos that are inevitably g

Fishbowl Friday 050 // Sparkles

Happy Friday! Today marks the Golden Anniversary of my Fishbowl Friday series. While it's hard to believe that I'm at the big five-oh... It's even harder to believe that in just 2 weeks, Fishbowl Friday turns a year old! Bellinis for everyone! I honestly can't think of a better way to mark this Seize the Sparkle milestone than with SPARKLES ... Polishes Used: 1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler 3 Coats China Glaze Choo Choo Choose You 2 Coats Pure Ice Oh, Baby 1 Coat Color Club The Uptown 2 Coats Pure Ice Oh, Baby 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Normally, a prompt like SPARKLES would make me pull out all my glitter and go crazy. And I did that last night. Only, I got a little carried away, and ended up with a hot mess of glitter on my nails. It just wasn't turning out as I'd hoped, so I had to scrap it and regroup. Then I remembered The Uptown, and thought it would look cool layered over Choo Choo Choose Me

#31DC2015 // Recapping the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2015

Woohoo! I've made it out to the other side... # 31DC2015 is complete, in the books, finished, whatever you would like to call it!!! This time around, it took me 39 days, a whole 5 days longer than last year, but in my defense, I was dealing with the plague. Let's take a look at my pretty collage... Red , Orange , Yellow , Green , Blue , Violet , Black & White , Metallic , Rainbow , Gradient , Polka Dots , Stripes , Animal Print , Flowers , Delicate Print , Geometric , Glitter , Half Moons , Galaxies , Water Marble , Color , Song , Movie , Book , Fashion , Pattern , Artwork , Flag , Supernatural , Tutorial , Nails You <3   . There's just something I love about seeing all my # 31DC2015 nails together... definitely gives me quite the sense of accomplishment! I love taking part in the challenge, but make no mistakes, the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge is not as easy as it looks! I'm not sure that any daily challenge is, to be honest! It's definitel

Rainbow Honey La Isla Morada

Is there anything better than nail mail? My monthly mystery bag from Rainbow Honey arrived yesterday and it did nawt disappoint! No tricks, just treats all around!!! I'm ignoring the fact that there's so much orange in the packaging. I mean, it is October, after all. I'm loving all the new scents that are coming out of Rainbow Honey right now. Whoever is in charge of putting their scents together does an ah-mazing job. I'm scent-sitive to some pretty random fragrance notes, but I've yet to have an issue with any of Rainbow Honey's scents. But let's get back to the polish, shall we? La Isla Morada is the lovely purple shade in the lower right hand corner of my first collage using Layout for Instagram. Because I'm fancy and technologically awesome all at the same time. You can't really tell by the photo in the collage just how awesome La Isla Morada really is. But these photos should do the trick... Polishes Used: 1 Coat Finge
