Too cool, right? I mean, who wouldn't want this fluffy furball on their wrist? We sure did. I mean, it was the 80's, and in our defense... we had no fashion sense. Whatsoever. I'm sure you've seen the pictures. Do all the 80's kids in your life a favor and use them as kindling in your next campfire. And don't look too closely. Some things you just can't unsee.
I've been bugging my mom to find my watchimal for at least 2 months, if not more. I was really starting to worry that he had been a victim of the flood like so many other fallen lovies. (Don't get me started. And, GLUB, GLUB.) I was elated when she finally located the little pink fuzzball the other week. Mine was a Christmas gift, and as you can tell, I wore it all.the.time.
Every girl in my class had one. They were definitely THEE Christmas toy the year I got mine. This old flier shows a picture of the watch, a simple, plastic, digital watch underneath the head, secured by velcro. Hey. It was the 80's, and a MUCH simpler time.
So, I have a bunch of toys that I saved for "when I have kids," because, until you get a little older and have kids, you don't really realize that your kid isn't going to want it, mainly because you actually played with it, and that resulted in it looking old, so please stop calling it vintage. Kaythanks.
Naturally, the only thing to do, was to give Peanut my extremely well-preserved vintage watch from the 80's and see what she made of it. 'Cause, I practice what I preach, and I'm an awesomesauce Mom...
