Nicole By OPI Lay It On The Lime
I'm still very much into the brights over here at Chez Sparkle...
Polishes Used:
1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler
5 Coats Nicole By OPI Lay It On The Lime
1 Coat Borghese Clear Coat
1 Coat Seche Vite
So, you can't really tell by my pictures, but Lay It On The Lime is bright... really bright, I swear! It's not a neon... more of a bright chartreuse. Take a tennis ball, tone it down a little, and that's the shade we're talking about.
This lovely yellow-leaning green is part of NOPI's Seize the Summer collection. I probably walked by this display at least a dozen or so times without checking out what was on it. It was hanging out on a higher shelf, and I wrote it off as a few random shades and a bunch of clear coat and treatments. It moved to a bottom shelf last week, and Lay It On The Lime finally drew me in...
See how it's practically glowing? It's just a really bright and fun shade... perfect for summertime! How did Seize the Sparkle walk right by this Seize the Summer display? I'm blaming it on the fact that the display was on a higher shelf, and it's sooooo not time for what G from Nouveau Cheap calls "look up" season. That's not happening for quite a while! Also, there's just not enough brightness... and I'm human, so there's that, too! :)
Application was a little finicky. The polish kept dragging, leaving bald spots at the base of my nail bed. I had to go back and paint thicker and thicker coats to fill it in. I could've sworn there was more visible patchiness when I was done with the 5th coat, but I was tired and it was time to call it a day. So, there might have been a little bit of self-leveling sorcery at work here. O.o
Overall, I really like this color. It's bright, fun, and a little unexpected. Also, Lay It On The Lime is a nice break from that coral and blue rut I was stuck in for a while... :)
What do you think of Lay It On The Lime?

What store did you find this display in? I've looked all over and can't find these colors.
ReplyDeleteI found this display in my local CVS... but it was 2 rows behind the nail bar, waaaaay down on the bottom shelf. Prior to that, it was on one of the top shelves above the Burts Bees section... I know how frustrating it can be searching for polish collections! I hope you find it soon... and thanks for reading!!!
