When I first heard about the Flirt with Hearts Collection, Love Sprinkles was thee polish I was most interested in getting my hands on. Quite obviously, since I have one of the worst cases of glitteritis known to mankind. But I digress... Lately, more and more satin glitters are making their way onto the market, making for really fun polishes like Love Sprinkles. Also, satin glitter is thinner than metallic glitter, so you get really great glitter payoff, which is never a bad thing!
Early on, I knew I wanted to pair Love Sprinkles with a purple shade for an incredibly girly Valentine's Day look. Tempest is a gorgeous radiant orchid-esque shade from SinfulColors core collection that fit that description perfectly! Three easy coats of Tempest later, and I was ready for some glitter action...
I started with one coat of Love Sprinkles on all my nails. If I got hearts, yay, if not, no big deal. The 2nd time around, I fished out hearts and strategically(ish) placed them on my nails. I wasn't trying for any sort of pattern. I also filled in with glitter as I went. The 3rd time around, I placed a couple of hearts and made sure to go over each nail with one last swipe of glitter before moving on to the next nail.
In all honesty, I wasn't sure how application was going to work out on this one. SinfulColors glitters have always been easy to work with, but satin glitter can be tricky! Thankfully, I was pleasantly suprised. Love Sprinkles was the easiest satin glitter polish I've worked with so far. (Which makes me really excited to try Shamrockin'!) With any glitter topper like this one, you're gonna fish for some glitters to get the look you want. I don't mind because I really enjoy the way the end result looks.
After Love Sprinkles, I topped off this layering with 2 coats of Seche Vite, because I wanted a super smooth finish. That decision led to a little bubbling on a few nails. Thanks to the glitter size and color in Love Sprinkles, it's not uber noticeable unless you're thisclose to my nails.
Love Sprinkles is part of SinfulColors Flirt With Hearts Collection for Valentine's Day 2015. So pretty :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your pairing here, it's beautiful! Any tips for fishing out the bigger pieces of glitter? I just bought both the light and dark shamrockin' and I have a hard time getting them out of the bottle. Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!!! I thought it was actually easier getting the heart-shaped glitter out of Love Sprinkles because there are so many of them! I just leaned my bottle to the side a little, and tried to catch the bigger piece on my brush. Then, when I pulled it out, I made sure the glitter was on the top part of the brush. I flexed the brush a little on the brim of the bottle, letting some excess polish drip back, but keeping the glitter on top of the brush, ready for placement. Maybe that will help? I'm really excited to try Shamrockin'... it's waiting in my queue!
ReplyDeleteHahaa, yes, never enough fingers to paint! Thanks for your response and tips on getting the glitter out. I'm always drawn to the flower and heart topcoats, but not the long application process that it involves sometimes. Keep up the great swatches and blog :)
ReplyDeleteAnytime! Thanks for reading and commenting!!!
