State of the Sparkle: July 2015 Faves

It's been a long time since I did a State of the Sparkle post! Waaaay too long, and I've really wanted to switch it up a little bit and do some sort of monthly recap/review post. I've noticed that I read a lot of these types of posts on other blogs, so I thought you guys might like to read them too!

As time goes on, I'm sure the format will change a little bit as I figure out exactly what I want to include. For now, I'm thinking of including 5 of my favorite manicures from the month. I'm hoping this will push me to go outside of my comfort zone as far as colors and styles. I've definitely been on a seriotype kick lately, but my stamping plates need love too!

I'm also thinking that I'll include links to a couple of posts here and there. Articles and posts that are either great reads or feature manicures that I've really loved during the month! In addition to that, I'll also post a few recipes or things I've pinned. If you've got any questions for me, feel free to leave them in the comments and I'll do my best to answer them in an upcoming State of the Sparkle!

That's about all I've got for right now. If there's anything you'd like to read about, please let me know in the comments! Otherwise... let's get on with the show!

My Top 5 Manicures

Gilded Galaxies Seriotype

1. Gilded Galaxies Seriotype - I still really love how this one turned out. There's something about the mix of colors and glitter that translated perfectly onto my nails. I would definitely recreate this one!

Layering: Feel the Treble 24/7

2. Layering: Feel the Treble 24/7 - I will probably always love a really good seriotype. I chose colors that were outside of my comfort zone for this layering, but the result was gorgeous. Could I be moving past my orange hate? Ehhh... you won't find it solo on my nails anytime soon, but I'm a little more open to including it in layering and nail art than I've been in the past!

SinfulColors A-Crush Accent Mani

3. SinfulColors A-Crush Accent Mani - This one was an attempt to do accent nails a little differently. While I probably wouldn't use A-Crush and Summer S-Cool together again, I like the format of 2 accent nails next to each other. I typically accent my left ringer finger, right pointer finger, and right pinky. For this mani, I accented the ring and middle fingers on both hands.

Fishbowl Friday 036 (Abstract)

4. Fishbowl Friday 036 - I had a lot of fun creating this manicure and wearing it. It was a bright seriotype to begin with, and topping it with On Pinks and Needles just took it to the next level! I would love a collection of glitters like this in every color of the rainbow!

SinfulColors Forget Now

5. SinfulColors Forget Now - Love this shade of pink and the finish! Forget Now is one of those pinks that I see myself going back to again and again. I love shades that make you want to wear them just by looking at a photo!

Other Faves

This recipe for Guacamole Taquitos... I'm a sucker for the green stuff and have been known to eat it with a spoon. So, any recipe that adds a lot of guac? Yes, please!

This mug... I've been pretty partial to my owl mug lately, but this one's cute. And there's really no rule that you can't change your mug with each cup you drink, so...

So, this mani was actually posted in June, but it's way to pretty not to share. And bonus! It comes complete with a tutorial, so I might have try it sometime...

This manicure was posted in June, too... and it's orange... but I really like it. I'm still slightly bitter that I wasn't able to find Sun Settle Down or Green Tease.

Every time I look for recipes on Pinterest, I come across a ton of zucchini recipes. This one takes the little green veggie and turns it into pizza crust. It looks soooooo good!

Have I ever mentioned that I love cheese? Take it and melt it and I'm all over it. This recipe is super simple, but I was drooling over the photos and just had to pin it!

Peanut Butter and Banana sandwiches are just about the best thing ever. So, Peanut Butter Banana Ice Cream? Ummm... YES!

That's all I've got for the month of July with a little sprinkle of June! If you've got any questions for me or there's something you'd like to see featured here... please let me know in the comments!
