Nails Inc. Sugar House Lane

Nails Inc. is pretty good at staying on top of trends in the nail world, and their Sprinkles line of polishes is no exception. This line mimics the look of cupcake nails a.k.a. milky jelly sandwiches without the complication of layering.

Sugar House Lane by Nails Inc. Macro

Nails Inc. describes Sugar House Lane as a pastel gray with monochrome sprinkles. As you can see in the pics above, it's more of a dirty lavender than a true gray. Lately, this is pretty typical in the nail polish world. A true gray is difficult to find.

When I purchased Sugar House Lane from Sephora, it was evident that it was not a true gray, so I'm not disappointed in the color. I actually really like this shade. The monochrome sprinkles are black and silver glitter, but the silver is muted by the base coat, making it look like this is black and white glitter. Texture-wise, Sugar House Lane is BUMPY. There's definitely a texture here that I would've smoothed out with a couple coats of clear.

Polishes Used:

1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler
3 Coats Nails Inc. Sugar House Lane
1 Coat Seche Vite

While I really love this polish, I'm missing the larger pieces of glitter that I've grown accustomed to seeing in my glitter polish. While this line is definitely on-trend, I feel like including different sized glitter would have really knocked it out of the park. Rarely do you see glitter polish that is just one size anymore, even if it's just one color. This is where the indie brands truly shine, because there are so many incredible black and white glitter polishes out there. I thought this would squash my lemming for one, but I was wrong. Time to do some research! Luckily for me, Sarah at Chalkboard Nails made an awesome comparison guide in this post.

What's your favorite black and white glitter polish?
