Black is one of my favorite colors of polish to wear. It's right up there with pink and purple. Honestly, if I don't know what color to paint my nails, they usually end up black. Sometimes just plain old black, usually with a good helping of glitter on the side!
Intergalactic Space was an absolute must-have polish when I first saw it. It's a black jelly polish with a really pretty and unique blend of glitters, PLUS circular white glitter. The formula is pretty opaque on its own, but I opted to use it over one of my trusty black creme polishes, What's a Tire Jack from SOPI.
Part of Orly's Galaxy FX Collection, Intergalactic Space is supposed to be a one-bottle-stop for a galaxy look on your nails. It's a gorgeous polish, don't get me wrong, but it's no substitute for a good old fashioned galaxy manicure. (Of which, I've yet to try!) The black jelly base houses super fine silver, blue, and pink shimmer, with small orange and fuchsia glitter, and larger, circular white glitter.
And about that white glitter... I'm sure you noticed 2 of them in the pics. There is actually a 3rd on my thumb that got covered by the second coat of Intergalactic Space. While I like the idea of circular glitter, it just didn't pay off in this polish. It helped to make it stand out on the shelf, but I'd like to think I would've bought it anyway. I actually prefer the look of it sans white glitter. In the bottle, the white glitter fits right in. On my nails, however, it's sparse and the wrong color. A nice dark purple or navy blue would've been nice... maybe even a dark grey or muted silver.
Application was great, and the glitter payoff (minus the white) was amazing. Orly takes risks when it comes to embracing trends, and they definitely did that with this polish. If I hadn't seen the Orly bottle along with the swatches, I could've easily mistaken it for an indie brand polish. I'm always excited to see what new trend Orly comes out with next!
Have you picked up any of the Galaxy FX polishes from Orly?
