When I first swatched Flawless while going through the entire New Year New Hue collection, I knew I had to try sponging Flawless onto my nails. Metallic shades like Flawless tend to do something completely different when you sponged them on versus painting. With Flawless, you can actually see the mix of supertine gold and silver particles that pigment this shade. As a result, I think the polish has a little more brightness and depth to it.
But why stop there?
After sponging on a coat of Flawless, I added more shimmer and glitter with 2 coats of Poppin' Bottles. I really like the contrast of the silver glitter overtop the metallic gold. For me, that added little bit of texture will never get old!
Oh, and about that layer of Poppin' Bottles in between layers of Flawless? I knew I was only going to sponge 1 coat of Flawless, and I thought it would add depth, but I'm not sure if that worked, or if it got completely lost in the mix? I think it might have added a little shimmer to the sponging, and where glitter is concerned, the more the merrier in my opinion!
I like how this layering turned out. I know I mentioned it before, but I'm really glad I picked up 2 bottles of Poppin' Bottles. Definitely worth it, because I can see myself going through this and adding it to a whooooole lot of layerings.
And speaking of Layerings... In a lot of mine, I keep coming back to Pure Ice polishes to add shimmer or completely transform the look of my manicure. It's really something that Pure Ice does exceedingly well. Poppin' Bottles is in my opinion, right up there with Heartbreaker, Oh Baby, and Busted as far as layering polishes go. If you're into layerings and jelly glitter sandwiches... you seriously need it!
