Jackpot Candles: Review & GIVEAWAY

You know... until I moved out into my own place, candles weren't really on my radar. But when I did move out? Let's just say Mr. Sparkle and I quickly found that we go through a whole, whoooole lot of candles! He's always getting fancy with the spices in the kitchen, so that's a candle. Then there's the coziness of the living room, one in the bathroom for freshness, add one into the bedroom for a little romance, and you've got candles all. over. the. place. Some people are cat people. We are candle people.

So, when Jackpot Candles contacted me about reviewing one of their candles... it was a no-brainer! Their candles are 100% natural soy clean-burning candles, which is always a great thing. No funky soot marks on our walls, thankyouverymuch! And then there's the jackpot part of the candle, which is totally in line with the Seize the Sparkle mantra. Jackpot Candles contain a sparkly jewelry surprise! Hidden inside every candle is your choice of a necklace, earrings, or a ring with a possible value of $15 to $5,000, just waiting to be uncovered! Once you unwrap your treasure, you can log onto Jackpot Candles' website, enter your code, and have it appraised!

Ocean Breeze by Jackpot Candles

Scentwise, I gravitate toward fresh and floral scents. I debated over Sweet Pea and Ocean Breeze for a long time, but Ocean Breeze won out in the end! Jackpot Candles describes it as a "fresh fragrance with relaxing tones of clear skies, sparkling water, and sandy beaches." There are definitely a lot of layers to this fragrance. There's a fresh smell that's a mix between baby powder and laundry detergent that I just love. Then there's a tropical floral note in there that dances with a fruity, almost pineapply smell that is somehow not cloying in the slightest. It's absolutely delicious smelling, and the scent of a sunny, sandy beach is definitely in there. I'm not sure if there's a tiny bit of seaweed in there or what, but this candle definitely takess me right to a warm, sunny, gorgeous day on the beach. It's a nice relaxing vacation compared the snowy weather we've been having!

Jackpot Candles Ocean Breeze

I burned my candle for a little over 4 hours the first day. The scent traveled nicely through my home, but wasn't overpowering. On the second day, the candle burned for almost 6 hours, and that's when I was able to get the foil package out of the melted wax. You've definitely got to have a little patience while waiting for the candle to melt enough to get your treasure out!

So................... what did I receive?!?

my first Jackpot Candles treasure!

After letting the wax cool, I unwrapped the small foil package. I found a small, clear plastic bag inside the foil. My treasure was inside the plastic bag, which did a great job protecting my ring from excess wax. There were 2 stickers attached to side of my ring, one bearing the size, and the other with my appraisal information. My treasure was a very pretty silver ring with a sparkly pink stone, in the size I specified.

Appraisal time!

ring appraisal is convenient and easy!

I entered my information into the website to find that my ring was worth $27.00! With a price point of $24.95 per candle, you're definitely getting a great value, considering the lowest appraisal will be $15. Knocks the price of the candle down to $9.95 when you think about it... :)

SinfulColors Mauve On Seriotype

Whether you call it a seriotype or smooshy... (I prefer seriotype) there is just something about this style of manicure that I can't get enough of.  Polishes Used:  1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Out Ridge Filler 3 Coats SinfulColors Mauve On Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Hey there! It's been a little while, hasn't it? Sorry about that. Life happens, you know? Oddly enough, I didn't stop painting my nails during my hiatus. I kept taking pictures for a while, and then that just sort of stopped to. Weird how some habits die hard, while others don't change a bit.  Anyhoo... I found pictures of this mani in my files and couldn't believe I didn't share it! This was one of my favorite polishes last spring, and I recreated this exact seriotype/ a few times.  This mani started out with 3 fresh coats of Mauve On. I typically wrap my tips on the 2nd c

Fishbowl Friday 073 // Recreation

Every now and then, I enjoy looking back over past manicures. Creatively, it's just neat to see how far I've come since the days I started. Oddly enough, when I chose this prompt, I knew exactly which manicure I wanted to recreate. Based loosely on Fishbowl Friday 027 , today's seriotype nails are a RECREATION ...  Polishes Used: 1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler 3 Coats China Glaze Violet Vibes Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line SinfulShine Konstellation 2 Coats SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Looking back, I can honestly say that my seriotype game has come far since I first learned the method. One of the things that took me a while to master was the balance of nail polish finishes. While seriotypes made exclusively with creme polishes look cool, those made with a combination of different finishes really pop. There's more depth involved when you layer a metallic over a jelly neon and

Fishbowl Friday 072 // Hard Candy

We're going to skip that whole part where we talk about how it's been a while, because well, it's been a really long while. I'm still trying to work out how to make room for blogging and juggle everything else, and it's definitely been a challenge. But know that I am working on it, and I do really, really miss it. This place has been my Quantum of Solace for a long time, and I'm not planning on letting it go anytime soon. That being said... for this week's prompt, I was happily surprised when I pulled HARD CANDY . This is probably one of the most iconic brands of nail polish, and it's certainly gone through it's own number of changes throughout the years. Who didn't want to own a bottle of Sky once they saw it on Alicia Silverstone's nails way back in the 90's? Last year, Hard Candy celebrated their 20th anniversary by bringing back some of their most iconic shades. The collection was a mix of five original shades and three new ones.
