Polishes Used:

1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler
2 Coats Rainbow Honey Crimson Nebula
1 Coat Rainbow Honey Tsukimi
1 Coat Rainbow Honey Glow Cloud
1 Coat Rainbow Honey Tsukimi
1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat
1 Coat Seche Vite

This layering was pretty much born out of the idea from last month's mystery bag mani, incorporating all three polishes. I thought those colors were meant to go together... But Crimson Nebula, Tsukimi, and Glow Cloud? Even more so with these little sparkly beauties!

Tsukimi and Crimson Nebula both had a jellyish quality to them, so I just layered everything together in one big jelly glitter sandwich. I definitely want to use Glow Cloud on its own in the future, just to showcase its subtle sparkle. Also, I apologize, it didn't really photograph to well on the swatch wheel. The sun was in and out that day, and by the time I got over to the wheel, it was no longer cooperating!

February 2015 Mystery Bag by Rainbow Honey

Also in February's Mystery Bag... cuticle balm, foot massage lotion, and a rollerball, all in Rainbow Honey's Carnival Candy frangrance. It's got a super sweet smell just like cotton candy. I haven't tried the perfume, but the lotion and the cuticle balm are awesome!

Rainbow Honey's mystery bags are typically available in their online store. You can choose a monthly subscription, or buy the bag on a month by month basis. I totally recommend the subscription, that way, you're 100% sure you won't miss out on all the awesomeness! Mystery Bags are available in mini size for $10.00 plus shipping. That's what I'm subscribed to, and it's $12.95 with shipping included. Or, you can really pamper yourself with the full size Mystery Bag for $25.00 before shipping. Either way, it's an incredible amount of Rainbow Honey goodness at a great price. The cuticle balms alone are $5 a pop, and most of my mystery bags have had one. (Which is good, because I'm seriously addicted.)

Rainbow Honey Happy Birthday
c/o Rainbow Honey

Today marks Rainbow Honey's 3rd birthday, and they've been gearing up to release a new collection! I think their store has been closed for almost 2 weeks now, but that all ends tonight at 10PM EST Sunday, March 15th at Noon EST when they re-open for Spring! Coming tonight, a new limited edition glitter topper Konpeito and other goodies! No word yet on a release date for the A La Patisserie Collection, though...

A La Patisserie by Rainbow Honey

No big deal, just a collection that's inspired by a French Bakery, specifically, my fave French dessert... MACARONS? Pleeeeaaase, just take my money, really, I insist! Earlier this week, Rainbow Honey posted this photo on their Facebook page, a behind the scenes look at their photo shoot for their A La Patisserie collection...

Ummmm yeah... I'm practically drooling over the macarons, polish, and the possibility that this month's scent just might be Macaron. Pleeeeeeease let it be macaron. Seriously, I'm so excited for this collection, I Can. Nawt. Wait!

UPDATE: The store re-opening was pushed back 'til Sunday March 15th at Noon EST. Originally, I had thought the A La Patisserie Collection was part of that opening/release, but Rainbow Honey has confirmed they'll launch that collection separately at a later date. So sorry for any confusion I might've caused... I was definitely a little bummed to learn that. Buuuuuut in other news, the March Mystery Bag arrived in the mail yesterday, so rest assured, I'll be posting about that soon enough!

SinfulColors Mauve On Seriotype

Whether you call it a seriotype or smooshy... (I prefer seriotype) there is just something about this style of manicure that I can't get enough of.  Polishes Used:  1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Out Ridge Filler 3 Coats SinfulColors Mauve On Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line 1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Hey there! It's been a little while, hasn't it? Sorry about that. Life happens, you know? Oddly enough, I didn't stop painting my nails during my hiatus. I kept taking pictures for a while, and then that just sort of stopped to. Weird how some habits die hard, while others don't change a bit.  Anyhoo... I found pictures of this mani in my files and couldn't believe I didn't share it! This was one of my favorite polishes last spring, and I recreated this exact seriotype/ a few times.  This mani started out with 3 fresh coats of Mauve On. I typically wrap my tips on the 2nd c

Fishbowl Friday 073 // Recreation

Every now and then, I enjoy looking back over past manicures. Creatively, it's just neat to see how far I've come since the days I started. Oddly enough, when I chose this prompt, I knew exactly which manicure I wanted to recreate. Based loosely on Fishbowl Friday 027 , today's seriotype nails are a RECREATION ...  Polishes Used: 1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler 3 Coats China Glaze Violet Vibes Essie Leggy Legend Pahlish Autumn People Pure Ice Get in Line SinfulShine Konstellation 2 Coats SinfulColors Clear Coat 1 Coat Seche Vite Looking back, I can honestly say that my seriotype game has come far since I first learned the method. One of the things that took me a while to master was the balance of nail polish finishes. While seriotypes made exclusively with creme polishes look cool, those made with a combination of different finishes really pop. There's more depth involved when you layer a metallic over a jelly neon and

Fishbowl Friday 072 // Hard Candy

We're going to skip that whole part where we talk about how it's been a while, because well, it's been a really long while. I'm still trying to work out how to make room for blogging and juggle everything else, and it's definitely been a challenge. But know that I am working on it, and I do really, really miss it. This place has been my Quantum of Solace for a long time, and I'm not planning on letting it go anytime soon. That being said... for this week's prompt, I was happily surprised when I pulled HARD CANDY . This is probably one of the most iconic brands of nail polish, and it's certainly gone through it's own number of changes throughout the years. Who didn't want to own a bottle of Sky once they saw it on Alicia Silverstone's nails way back in the 90's? Last year, Hard Candy celebrated their 20th anniversary by bringing back some of their most iconic shades. The collection was a mix of five original shades and three new ones.
