Pahlish October 2015 Duo // A Rare Month: Autumn People & Stopped Watch

Ever so slowly, I'm dipping my toes into the waters of indie nail polish. And I do mean slowly. Pahlish is the 3rd indie polish brand I've tried so far. The purchase of these two polishes actually marks the first time that I've ever decided to order a polish online so quickly. As soon as I saw the swatch of Autumn People, I knew it had to be in my collection. Stop The Clock and Autumn People came as a pair, so it only seemed natural to layer them together...

Layering Pahlish Autumn People over Stopped Watch

Polishes Used:

1 Coat Fingerpaints Smooth Over Ridge Filler
4 Coats Pahlish Stopped Watch
2 Coats Pahlish Autumn People
2 Coats SinfulColors Clear Coat
1 Coat Seche Vite

I'm not even sure where to begin with the two of these polishes. They've both got a lot going on, and when they're layered together? So. Much. Gorgeousness!

First of all, I'd be lying if I didn't say that Autumn People totally drew me in. It's such a unique and fun mix of flakies and glitter, with a lot of great colors representing. But then I noticed that Stopped Watch wasn't a black polish. But it wasn't your typical blackened green, either. Nope. It's an almost-blackened olive jelly with super fine fuchsia, copper, and gold glitter running through it.

Autumn People is described by Paholish PR as a "clear topper with a mix of red ultrachrome flakes, gold flakes, and multicolored chameleon flakes with neon purple shimmer. Exploded Halloween in a bottle!" It's a really warm mix of colors with red, gold, copper, and pink all representing. Then, the little bit of purple and flashes of blue and green really make it unique.

Stopped Watch did require 4 coats before I felt like it was completely even on me. I had a couple of visible patches down by my cuticles after just three coats, so for me, the 4th coat was neccessary. But I'm used to painting at least 3 coats, so, no big deal. Autumn People went on like a breeze. I listed 2 coats above, but it was one normal coat followed by a thinnish coat to amp up the sparkle factor a little. Glitter payoff is really good, and 2 regular coats would block out too much of Stopped Watch.

As far as ordering and everything goes, turn around time was pretty amazing with Pahlish! I placed my order on Friday, October 20th and received my package on Monday, October 26th. So, yay for that! Waiting has never been my strong suit!

There's a good chance that I'm in love with Autumn People. I can't wait to try it over some other colors, and definitely in a Seriotype at some point. I've seen it over taupe and while that looks really pretty, I'm still brainstorming what I want to use it with next!
