I get excited when new polish collections come out, especially limited edition collections like the L'Oreal Miss Candy Jelly Polish Collection. I research my polishes pretty well before buying. Surprisingly, even though I have 200ish polishes... I have a pretty good idea of what colors I have and don't have. But sometimes I'll see a display that I think is new, and I get the color home only to discover I already have the exact. same. shade.
Versus is a new feature here on Seize the Sparkle where I'll compare similar colors to see if they're true dupes, just a shade or two off, or two
(or more) complete different colors!
For the inaugural edition... Here's two polishes that I swatched because I thought they would look completely different. Imagine my surprise when I saw this:

| Okay... Jolly Lolly looks a smidge darker and slightly more red. Slightly. |

| But, wait! I have Jolly Lolly on my hands and it looks red, not pink!!! |

| Umm, yeah. You're seeing what I saw. Oo |
Now, I have a pretty good idea why this happened. The nail wheel is a really stark white, whereas my nails have a natural pinky-peach base. But still... talk about unexpected! If I had looked at these swatches, I might've passed on buying Jolly Lolly! Luckily, when you look at the bottle, it's super obvious that Jolly Lolly is a RED jelly, not a pink one. But still... crazy, right?
