31 Day Challenge 2014: *10*

The storm clouds are all gone, and so is the rainbow. Not really shedding many tears over that one, in all honesty!!! Today's prompt is GRADIENT... so I decided to try a combination pigment/glitter gradient manicure for Day 10...

Polishes Used:

1 Coat Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler
3 Coats SinfulColors My Buoyfriend
1 Sprinkle Jesse's Girl Penny Arcade
1 Coat SOPI Traffic Stopper Copper
1 Coat SOPI The Golden Age
1 Coat Spoiled I Have No Reception
1 Coat SinfulColors Clear Coat
1 Coat Essie Good to Go

So, I definitely had a little inspiration in mind when I set out to do this, but I don't really have the required polishes to make that look work. So, I used what I had in my stash to recreate it to the best of my ability! This is the 3rd time I've done a pigment gradient. (2nd... 1st...)

My Buoyfriend is a really bright royal blue shade that I love wearing. I paired it with copper, then added a little gold and silver glitter for some contrast and extra sparkle. It's possible that I might've gone a little overboard with the pigment powder. I would'v liked to see more blue in the finished manicure. I thought about adding more of My Buoyfriend over the pigment, but I really didn't want to turn the whole layering into a mess and have to start over! So... I'll just have to remember to take it a little easier on the pigment next time!!!

I'm not sure why, but everytime I look at my nails, I keep thinking Celestial Bronze. So, if this layering had a name, that would definitely be it! It kind of reminds me of that whole sun, moon, and stars thing that was big in the early 90s too. O.o

10 Days down... 21 to go! Next on the list? POLKA DOTS...
